Doris "Jeanie" Lee, 66, of Jonesboro passed away June 23, 2020 at St Bernards Hospital following a short term illness. She was born December 1, 1953 to the late Edna Doris Nowlin at Memphis, Tennessee.
Jeannie was a prolific writer who started her days, for at least the past 15 years, recording her thoughts and feelings. As a result, she left her family with a large library of personal journals detailing her inner most thoughts. She enjoyed spiritual retreats and events involving the Catholic Church. She held a special endearment for her cat, Bella. She also enjoyed a precious relationship with her grandson, Jordan. Jeanie enjoyed learning to use social media as a means to keep in touch with Jordan; she printed and framed many of his photos to place around her home. Another special relationship she held dear was that of her Aunt Diane Hill. They shared a special bond and enjoyed spending time together.
Along with her mother, Jeanie was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanita Davis; beloved brother, John Long, and her husband Rual Titus Lee.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Amanda Gibson of Jonesboro; sister, Janet McElfresh of Jonesboro; grandson, Jordan Kellum; her beloved cat, Bella; and a host of friends and family who will miss her dearly.
A mass will be held in honor of Jeanie 10:00 a.m. July 2, 2020 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Jonesboro. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
