Martin Marsee Obituary

Martin “Shannon” Marsee, of Tuskahoma, OK, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Shannon was born to the late Condly Lee Marsee and Betty Ann Marsee (Burnside) on January 27, 1966. Shannon grew up in Talihina, OK. He was quite raucous and even struggled with addiction in his younger years. With determination, Shannon eventually maintained sobriety for nearly the last two decades of his life. Shannon could fix almost anything and, after acquiring extensive experience, he made a profession of his maintenance skills in the management of commercial/residential properties. Although he resided in Kansas and throughout Oklahoma for many years, Talihina would always be the place Shannon knew as home. In his last years, he returned to the Talihina area to become part of the community, give back, and enjoy the beauty he remembered fondly. Shannon worked hard and taught his kids to do the same. He loved to hunt, fish, cook, and spend time with those he cared about. Shannon will be remembered for his brutal-yet-sincere honesty, delicious food that brought people together, readiness to help those in need, and never-ending supply of Dr. Pepper. He is loved dearly and already greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Shannon is preceded in death by his son, Aaron Marsee deOsio, brother, Sean Marsee, and two sisters, Marian and Melissa Marsee.

Shannon is survived by his five children: Condly Bristow of Wilburton, OK, Kyle Bristow of Wilburton, OK, Dominique Dunn (deOsio) of Lawrence, KS, Abigail Blevins (Swope) of Lawrence, KS, and Alonna Marsee deOsio of Harrah, OK. He is also survived by Aamira Galloway deOsio, who he loved as he did his own children, many grandchildren, including Ella (11), Ben (7), Ender (7), Tayla (4), and Anastasia (2), his canine companion, Ladybug, his brother, Jason Marsee of Flagstaff, AZ, and ex-wife, La Donna deOsio of Topeka, KS, with whom he coparented and maintained a lasting friendship.

A celebration of life and memorial service are being planned. Please reach out to the family for more information: Alonna at (785) 249-9681 or Dominique at (785) 250-1804.
